Ever since I first heard the music by Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Jan Hammer at a young age I was immediately fascinated by these new sounds I was hearing: the sounds of the synthesizer. Soon I bought my first keyboard and started playing in various bands. I started working as a musical instrument salesman, which I did for over 20 years. And of course I made my own home studio. Currently I’m working as an engineer in a high-tech electronics factory.

Playing keyboard (and other instruments) in bands and jam sessions is something I’ve been doing for over 35 years. I even won an award as “Best keyboard player” in the Dutch coverband competition “Clash of the coverbands”. This enabled me the build the quite unique combination of artistical/musical and technical/engineering skills.

Over the years I’ve owned many synthesizers and as a salesman I had the honour of playing one many more synths, among which are some true vintage, rare or expensive ones. But one dream remained: making my own polyphonic synthesizer. That’s why I started with JaySys Electronics.

The electronics-journey started in 2016 when I built my first DIY guitar effect pedal kit. This turned out to be a success. Then I came across the website Yusynth.net which contained a large amount of resources for building your own modular synthesizer. Combined with my newly acquired soldering skills this lead to the creation of my first synthesizer: the Zeth Modular Synthesizer. Many projects later, I finally realized my dream and designed and built a fully programmable 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer: the QUARTZ-8.

All the projects on this website are either built and/or designed by myself. I hope you like what you find here and get inspired to create your own musical and/or electronic masterpiece.

If you have any questions about the creations on this website or if you would like some form of collaboration, please contact me.
